Sam Landau Named Big Ten Men’s Tennis Player of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––– After a spectacular performance at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships over the weekend, Sam Landau has been named the Big Ten's Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

Landau had a fantastic showing at the Ohio Valley Regional, going undefeated in his five matches to earn co-champion status with Pablo Martinez Gomez (Vanderbilt) and earn a bid to the NCAA Singles Championships.

That will be Landau's first career trip to NCAAs. He will compete in the NCAA's Singles Championships from Nov. 21-23 in Orlando, Fla.

Round 64: Sam Landau (IND) Def. Julian Franzmann (UTC), 6-4, 6-4.
Round 32: Sam Landau (IND) Def. Maj Premzl (PUR), 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
Round 16: Sam Landau (IND) Def. Kyle McNally (UD), 6-3, 6-2.
Quarterfinals: Sam Landau (IND) Def. Oscar Martinez (ETSU), 6-2, 6-2.
Semifinals: Sam Landau (IND) Def. Henrik Villanger (PUR), 7-5, 7-6 (7-3).
