Gooch appeared in 49 games (23 starts) and made 75 tackles, 48 solo, with 6.5 sacks (43 yards), 14.5 tackles for loss (68 yards), four forced fumbles and one interception. He graduated with a general studies degree in Dec. 2017.

2017 Honors: Team captain ... earned the team’s Chris Dal Sasso Award (Outstanding Lineman).

2017 (Senior): Posted 26 tackles, 18 solo, with 4.5 sacks (3rd on the team), 6.5 tackles for loss (5th), two forced fumbles (1st, T-7th in the Big Ten) and two quarterback hurries ... shared the lead among IU defensive linemen in stops, finished second in sacks and third in TFLs ... started 11 games and played in all 12 at defensive end ... collected a career-high two sacks and matched a career-best with four solos in addition to one forced fumble in the Rutgers win ... forced his first fumble of the season and added one sack and four tackles at No. 18 Michigan State ... carded one sack in the win at Virginia ... opened the season with both QBHs against No. 2 Ohio State ... 2016 (Junior): Started 12 games and played in all 13 at defensive end ... moved from linebacker to defensive end during the offseason ... collected 26 tackles, 15 solo, one sack, 5.5 tackles for loss and one forced fumble ... registered 1.5 TFLs and three stops against No. 10 Penn State ... recorded his sack in the Purdue win and the forced fumble in the Foster Farms Bowl vs. No. 19 Utah ... tallied a career-high four tackles, all solo, with one stop for loss and one quarterback hurry at Northwestern.

2015 (Sophomore): Appeared in 12 games and made 12 tackles with one sack and one forced fumble at linebacker ... recorded his first career sack, forced his first career fumble and made three stops in the win at Purdue.

2014 (Freshman): Played in all 12 games at linebacker ... collected 11 tackles, 1.5 for loss, with one interception and one pass breakup ... picked off his first career pass against Penn State ... added a pair of stops and one TFL against the Nittany Lions ... IU defensive player of the week (Penn State).
