Fields is the only player in program history to play in 50 games (50) and started 20 times. He made 159 tackles, 121 solo, one sack, 5.5 tackles for loss, four interceptions (1 pick-6), nine pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Fields graduated with a management degree in Dec. 2017.

2017 Honors: Earned the team's Harold Mauro “Loyalty to IU Football” Award.

2017 (Senior): Played at safety the first three games before moving to the husky position the final nine ... started seven times ... posted 56 tackles (5th on the team), 44 solo (4th), one sack, five tackles for loss, one interception (T-2nd), one forced fumble (T-2nd), one fumble recovery (T-2nd) and one pass breakup ... collected a career-high 10 stops, seven solo, and one TFL in his first game at husky at No. 4 Penn State ... tallied eight tackles, six solo, one for loss and his first career forced fumble at No. 18 Michigan State ... recovered his first career fumble and his first career sack in the Rutgers win ... secured seven solo stops, one for loss, against No. 17 Michigan ... picked off the pass and added five tackles at Maryland ... delivered five solos with the PBU in the season opener against No. 2 Ohio State ... two-time IU defensive team player of the week (Michigan and Rutgers).

2016 (Junior): Started all 13 games at safety ... finished fifth on the team with 70 tackles, 53 solo (4th on the team), a half-tackle for loss, two interceptions (T-3rd) and seven pass breakups (T-4th) ... collected eight tackles four times: in the Foster Farms Bowl vs. No. 19 Utah, in the Purdue win, vs. No. 10 Penn State (all solo) and at No. 2 Ohio State ... added his second pick, which he returned 16 yards, vs. the Nittany Lions ... made seven solo stops with an interception against No. 10 Nebraska ... posted a career-high two pass breakups in the Ball State win ... IU defensive player of the week (Penn State).

2015 (Sophomore): Appeared in all 13 games ... made 19 tackles, 15 solo, with a 20-yard interception touchdown return at Wake Forest ... the INT was the first of his career ... made four stops, all solo, against No. 10 Iowa ... closed the season with three tackles in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl against Duke.

2014 (Freshman): Played in all 12 games ... posted 14 tackles, nine solo, with one pass breakup ... collected four stops, three solo, with the PBU in the team’s win over No. 18 Missouri.

Prep/Personal: Safety for head coach Ronnie Cottrell at Amos P. Godby High School ... finished his career with 314 tackles, 13 interceptions, 15 pass breakups, seven fumble recoveries, five forced fumbles, four touchdowns and three sacks ... recorded 71 tackles, 42 solo, and four INTs as a senior ... team captain led Godby to a 10-2 record and a district championship ... two-time all-state and All-Big Bend selection ... played at North Florida Christian High School as a sophomore and won the 2A state title ... rated the No. 44 safety nationally by ESPN ... four-year football and two-year basketball letterwinner ... four-year honors student won the 2013 Godby Senior Football Athlete Academic Award ... parents are Antonio and Tabatha Fields ...
