Joel Langemaat is the staff Athletic Trainer working with the IU baseball program. He also served as a graduate assistant Athletic Trainer from 2008-10 at IU.
A native of southern Indiana, he earned his bachelors of liberal arts with emphasis in athletic training from Purdue in 2005 and received a Master’s of Science in athletic training from Indiana in 2010.
Langemaat is an approved clinical instructor and mentor with Indiana University’s Athletic Training MSAT and Graduate programs. He also is an adjunct professor for undergrad ATEP in the Indian Universtiy School of Public Health.
Being a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, he has attended numerous continuing education meetings gaining experience in advanced rehabilitation and soft tissue mobilization techniques, specifically Graston M1/M2, is Dry Needling certified and has completed his Champion Performance Specialist certificate. In 2006, Langemaat worked with the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) at their annual Capitol Hill Day in Washington, D.C to help educate legislatures on what athletic trainers educational background includes and the variety of work settings they are employed.
Prior to coming to IU, Langemaat worked at STAR Physical Therapy from 2005-08 in southern Indiana, seeing patients in the physical therapy clinic during the mornings, and as head athletic trainer for North Harrison High School.
Langemaat also worked at IU Health Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine-Bloomington (2009-10) as the full-time athletic trainer for Bloomington North High School.
Joel and his wife, Tara, have two children, a son, Landon, and daughter, Sophia.
