William (Billy) Means serves as the athletic trainer for the Indiana Women's Soccer and Women's Golf programs.
He joined the IU Sports Medicine staff as a research assistant/assistant athletic trainer in the fall of 2014 working with the Hoosier field hockey and cheerleading teams, as well as, collaborating with concussion research with the school of optometry. Means spent three years working with the Hoosier field hockey and cheerleading programs.
Means, originally from Kentucky, graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in athletic training in 2012. Means earned his master’s degree from IU in 2014 where he worked with the football, men’s tennis, women's soccer, and cheerleading teams.
He became a certified athletic trainer in May of 2012 and has been a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) since 2009. He currently has certifications in Graston technique, Dry Needling and Blood Flow Restriction.
Billy and his wife Elise reside in Bloomington, IN and have two daughters, Larkyn and Parker, and a son, Trey.
