One of the Big Ten's most dominant big men during his era, D.J. White averaged 14.6 points and 7.6 rebounds during his four years in Bloomington. He made a huge impact on the program from day one, averaging 13.3 points and 2.2 blocks as a freshman to earn Big Ten Freshman of the Year accolades while playing for Coach Mike Davis. As good as that first season was, though, his best collegiate season was his last, when he was named the Big Ten's Player of the Year and second-team All-America after averaging 17.4 points and 10.3 rebounds in 2008. In doing so, he became the first Hoosier to average a double-double in 14 years (Alan Henderson, 1994). White still ranks 18^th in program history in points (1,447 points), 12^th in rebounds (748) and third in blocks (198). White was the 29^th pick in the first round of the 2008 NBA Draft and spent six years in the NBA and another eight playing overseas before announcing his retirement Aug. 15.
