All-American in 1961, 1962, 1963 and 1964...member of the United States Pan Am Team in 1963, winning the 100 meter butterfly...set world record in the 100 meter butterfly in 1963...member of 1964 U.S. Olympic Swim Team, winning gold medals swimming the anchor legs in the 400 meter freestyle relay and the 400 meter medley relay and bronze medals in the 100 meter butterfly and the 100 meter freestyle...graduated from IU in 1969 with a degree in nursing ...inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1991.
