HOOSIERS TO START COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM
Throughout the months of November and December, Indiana football players will be traveling to Bloomington elementary schools to read to area youth. This program, implemented by football media relations student assistant Raina Kerman, is just the first of several programs that will be developed during the upcoming months. Other programs will address the needs of the elderly, handicapped, and underprivileged in the Bloomington area.
The reading program asks for area elementary school children to write letters to the Indiana football department explaining why they would like an Indiana football player to come and speak to their class. Essentially, everyone who requests a player to visit their classroom will be accommodated.
