INDIANA THIS WEEK-- Indiana wraps up the nonconference portion of its schedule this weekend, hosting the Hampton Inn and Fazoli's Classic, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 19-20, in Assembly Hall. The tournament features the Hoosiers taking on Northeastern Illinois Friday at 6 p.m., followed by Belmont versus Wright State at 8 p.m. Consolation and championship games will be played Saturday at 6 and 8 p.m., respectively.
CLASSIC HISTORY -- The Hoosiers have never lost a Classic game, posting an 8-0 record over the past four years. Last season, IU defeated Youngstown State 77-72 to advance to the championship game against Alabama-Birmingham which the Hoosiers won 81-55. Quacy Barnes and Dani Thrush were named to the all-tournament team while former Hoosier Tatjana Vesel was named tournament MVP.
THE HOOSIERS-- Indiana enters Friday's game with a 6-4 record after posting wins over Evansville 79-63, and Valparaiso 74-56, last week. Senior Quacy Barnes' 18.6 points per game leads the Hoosiers this season and is followed by junior Kristi Green's 12.3 points per game. Forward Summar Maines leads the team in rebounding, averaging 7.8 boards per game while teammate Dani Thrush leads in assists with 4.6 per game.
NORTHEASTERN ILLINOIS-- The Golden Eagles bring a 2-5 record into the Classic. Senior forward Radiance Clarke leads the squad in scoring, averaging 18.8 points per game. Teammate Delores Jones averages almost a double-double in scoring and rebounding with 16.6 points and 9.6 boards per game. Head Coach Karen Hall is in her first season at Northeastern Illinois. The Series: Friday's game marks the first meeting between the two schools.

BELMONT -- Belmont enters the Classic with a 9-2 record that includes last week's victories over Georgia State and Troy State. The Bruins are led by a trio of double-figure scorers in Denise Farrell (18.7 ppg), Mitzi Blankenship (10.5 ppg) and Jessica Matson (10.5 ppg). Farrell, a 6-0 senior, also leads the team in rebounding, averaging 6.5 per game. The Bruins are coached by Tony Cross who has amassed a 319-116 school and career record in 14 years with the program.
WRIGHT STATE -- First year head coach Lisa Fitch's Raiders are 2-6 prior to Friday's game versus Belmont. Three players average double-figures in scoring for Wright State and are led by sophomore forward Jess Van Der Geest's 13.4 points per game. Teammates Beth Bartram and Chanda Hollingsworth follow with each averaging 12.3 points per game. Bartram also leads the team on the boards, averaging 9.6 rebounds per game.
HEAD COACH JIM IZARD -- Head Coach Jim Izard begins his 10th season at the helm of the Indiana program where he owns a 145-115 (.558) overall school record and a 67-90 (.427) mark in the Big Ten Conference. As Indiana's all-time winningest coach, Izard has guided his teams to eight winning seasons and two NCAA post-season tournament appearances. His 16-year career record stands at 313-164 (.657).
RAINING THREES -- Indiana's 60 3-point field goals currently rank first among Big Ten schools. The Hoosiers are averaging six treys per game, including 2.3 per game by Kristi Green. If IU's long range connection continues it should better last season's school record 148 3-pointers.
CHARTING MINUTES -- Junior Kristi Green continues to rack up playing time, averaging 38 minutes of court action per game. The 5-2 point guard has played all 40 minutes in four games, and has played 119 of a possible 120 minutes in IU's last three games.
MUELLER SIDELINED -- Freshman Staci Mueller will be out of action the rest of December after being diagnosed with mononucleosis Dec. 9. Prior to being sidelined, Mueller averaged 6.8 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.
BARNES COLLECTS 1,000th -- Senior Quacy Barnes became just the 13th player in Hoosier history to score 1,000 career points Dec. 8, when IU defeated Evansville. Barnes, who scored a game-high 18 points against the Aces, now has 1,031 career points to rank 12th all-time in scoring.
"Q" SCHOOL -- Quacy Barnes has gotten off to an impressive senior season. The 6-5 center has led the team in scoring in all but two games and is averaging 18.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting 60 percent from the field. In addition, the school record holder for blocked shots has 19 this season to lead the Big Ten.
STARTERS VS. BENCH -- The Hoosiers starting five have accounted for 57.7 of Indiana's 73 points per game - 79 percent of its scoring total. Forty-three percent has come from senior Quacy Barnes and junior Kristi Green who average a combined 31 points per game.
DANI'S DISH -- Junior Dani Thrush leads the Hoosiers with 46 assists this season. Her 4.6 per game assist average ranks eighth in the league.
LITTLE GREEN GIANT -- Kristi Green, has been one of the most consistent players for the Hoosiers, averaging 12.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. In addition, Green is shooting 46 percent from the field, 43 percent from the 3-point arc and is an impressive 26-27 (.963) from the charity stripe. Both Green's 3-point field goal and free throw percentage rank first in the conference.
MUCH IMPROVED -- Junior Summar Maines has earned the "Most Improved" player award. Last season, the 6-0 forward averaged 3.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per game while shooting 40 percent from the field. This season, Maines is leading the team off the glass, averaging 7.8 rebounds per game. She is also averaging 9.7 points per game while shooting 48 percent from the field.
