CAMERON AND SCHMIDT TO COACH IN BLUE-GRAY GAME
Indiana head football coach Cam Cameron and assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach Pete Schmidt have been selected to coach in the 60th annual Kelly Tires Blue-Gray Game that will be played in Montgomery, Ala., on December 25. Indiana center Chris Lee and guard Victor Allotey will play in the game that features many of the nation's top collegiate players.
"Obviously, this is a great opportunity for the Indiana University football program to gain some additional exposure," said Cameron. "I know that the Kelly Tires Blue Gray game televised by ABC and is viewed in many homes throughout the country on Christmas Day. I am especially excited for Chris and Victor to have the opportunity to play in such a game and I know that it will have special meaning for Chris who grew up in Alabama."
Cameron, who spent 10 years as an assistant coach at the University of Michigan and three years as the Washington Redskins quarterbacks coach before taking over at Indiana, will serve as the offensive head coach while Navy head coach Charlie Weatherbie will be the defensive head coach. Cameron and Weatherbie will serve as co-head coaches.
Schmidt, who won a Division III national championship and compiled a 106-26-5 record as the head coach at Albion (Mich.) College from 1983-96, is the only other offensive assistant coach on the Gray team. He will work with the offensive line.
