Hoosiers sweep Auburn
Bloomington, IN--Indiana, looking to rebound from last weeks close loss to Clemson, came out swinging today, defeating 68th ranked Auburn 9-0. It looked relatively easy for the Hoosiers, who didn't lose a set all afternoon.
Correne Sout continued her tear, defeating Alexandra LaGrange at the number one slot in straight sets, 6-1,7-6(4). Sout improved to a perfect 15-0 on the season. She also teamed with freshman Kelly Blanch to improve to 17-1 in doubles action. The number one tandem defeated LaGrange and Summa Edwards 8-4 to improve to 7-1 together.
Megan McCarney, playing at the three spot, dominated Edwards, winning rather easily, 6-1,6-1. She also teamed with Zahra Ahamed to defeat the number two team of Tara Fitzmorris and Lucy Altman 9-7.
Indiana improves to 3-1 in dual match action while the Tigers fall to 1-1. The Hoosiers will be back in action tommorrow as they face the 11th ranked Tennessee Volunteers. Matches are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. Indiana will wrap up its four match home-stand next weekend when Marquette and Ball State come calling on Saturday the 21st.
