INDIANA OPENS BIG TEN SEASON ON SATURDAY
This Week: The Indiana Swimming and Diving team will open the Big Ten season on Saturday against Northwestern. The meet is scheduled to start at 2:00pm will take place in the Cousilman and Billingsley Aquatic Center. The Hoosiers are 2-1 on the season and the team took first place in the Indiana Invitational.
Last Week: The Hoosiers traveled to Columbia, South Carolina on January 7 to face the Gamecocks in a dual meet and came away with a 104-101 victory. Winners for Indiana included Rob Chelle, Tom Davis, Rob Iglinski, and Tom Wanezek. The divers competed in the All-American Diving Invitational in Austin , Texas. In the collegiate competition, Mike Collier placed fourth on the one-meter and sixth on the three-meter. Tom Davidson finished in tenth on the one-meter and ninth on the three-meter.
Big Ten Championships: The 1998 Big Ten Championships will be held at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. The dates for the meet are February 26-28. Preliminaries are at noon and finals are scheduled to start at 7:00pm. Last year?s meet, one of the fastest ever, was at the Cousilman and Billingsley Aquatic Center at Indiana University.
NCAA Championships: The 1998 NCAA Championships are at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. The meet will take place March 26-28. Swimming preliminaries are to start at noon, diving preliminaries at 1:30pm and finals are at 7:00pm.
