LAZO ALAVANJA TO STAY AT INDIANA

Bloomington, Ind. - Indiana soccer standout Lazo Alavanja, who had been offered a contract by Major League Soccer to leave school early, has decided to remain at Indiana to play soccer and continue his education.

Alavanja, a Missouri Athletic Club Award finalist and first team All-Big Ten selection, helped the Hoosiers to a 23-1 record, a Big Ten title and a spot in the national semifinals last season. He was also recognized as one of Soccer America's Collegiate MVPs, and was a second team All-America selection. He finished fourth on the Hoosiers with 29 points on nine goals and 11 assists..
