#16 HOOSIERS SHUTOUT MICHIGAN STATE
Ann Arbor, Mich. -- The Indiana women's soccer team rebounded from Friday's loss to Michigan with a 1-0 win at Michigan State (2-9-2, 0-7-1 Big Ten) Sunday.
IU Senior Kris Fosdick scored Indiana's (8-3, 4-2 Big Ten) lone goal at 64:16. Fosdick took a pass over the top from junior forward Tracy Grose, an All-Big Ten candidate, and broke away from the pack to score.
Junior goalkeeper Ashley Davis shutout her fifth opponent and stopped four shots Sunday.
Notes:
Fosdick's goal was her fourth of the
year. This game was Fosdick's 75th
as a Hoosier and is tied for second on
the IU career games played list.
Quincy Wolkowitz holds the record with
77 from 1993-96. Fosdick is tied
with assistant coach Wendy Dillinger,
who played in 75 games from 1993-97.
Grose's assist was her fourth of the year which gives her 24 points this season.
Davis's shutout moves her into second on the IU career list with 7.5. Davis is 6.5 behind Merit Elzey, who recorded 14 shutouts from 1994-97.
