IU WOMEN'S GOLF CONTINUES TO STRUGGLE

Franklin, Ind., The IU women's golf team continued their dismal play today, finishing the first round of Big Ten vs. Big 12 Shoot-Out at the Legends in eighth place, 25 strokes behind the leader, Oklahoma State 585 (292-293). The Hoosiers are 36 over par after rounds of 310 and 302 (612).
Senior Erin Carney (143) appears to be back on track, firing rounds of 69 and 74 putting her at one under par and just four strokes behind the leader Salimah Mussani of Texas 139 (68-71).
After seven wins last season, the Hoosiers have not won a tournament yet and have not shown signs of their performance last year. But Carney looks as if she is swinging the club like she did last year when she won twice and finished in the top 10 an amazing 10 times. She won the Lady Northern in late September, but placed tied for 18th last week at the Bama Fall Preview.
