WELTER NAMED CO-BIG TEN PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Indiana volleyball sophomore Amanda Welter has been named Co-Big Ten Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Welter shares the honor with Penn State's Lauren Cacciamani.
Welter, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, helped lead the Hoosiers (10-3 overall, 3-1 Big Ten) to wins over No. 21 Michigan State and Michigan this past weekend.
The 6-3 outside hitter led Indiana in kills and digs in the matches, averaging 4.3 kills and 3.1 digs per game. She registered a career-high 22 kills and 12 digs in the Hoosiers' upset win over the nationally ranked Spartans Friday evening before posting eight kills and 10 digs against the Wolverines.
In league play, Welter is averaging 3.85 kills, 2.77 digs and .92 blocks per game.
