ERIN CARNEY NAMED GOLFER OF THE MONTH
Senior Erin Carney was honored as the Rolex College Golfer of the Month for October. Carney won the individual medalist honor at the Legends of Indiana, carding a two-under par 214 (69-74-71) while leading Indiana to a sixth place finish.
Carney also tied for third at the Stanford Women's Intercollegiate. She shot two-under par 217 (70-75-72), while leading Indiana to a fourth place finish. In her third tournament of the month, she also tied for 18th at the Bama Fall Preview. She shot 11-over par 153 (74-79), while leading Indiana to a 13th place finish.
Carney, who also won the Lady Northern in September, is one of four players who have won two Rolex Collegiate Tour events this fall. Carney, who was ranked No. 21 in the latest edition of the MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings, compiled a stroke average of 73.0 for the month (eight rounds).
The Rolex College Golfer of the Month award is voted on by member of the College Golf Foundation's Golfer of the Month Committee. The award is based primarily on results from Rolex Collegiate Tour events, plus conference championships, NCAA Regionals and the NCAA Championships.
