BADGERS SWEEP HOOSIERS
Tournament hopes are in jeopardy for Hoosiers
Madison, Wisc.-The 8th-ranked Wisconsin Badgers swept the Indiana Women's Volleyball team tonight in three games at Wisconsin Field House. The 15-10, 15-3, 15-9 loss drops the Hoosiers to 14-11 overall and 7-9 in Big Ten play.
Junior middle blocker Kelly Kennedy paced a balanced Badger attack with 11 kills and eight blocks. Marisa Mackey added 10 kills while Jenny Maastricht knocked down nine balls, blocked six and had 11 digs as Wisconsin improved to 23-4 overall and 13-3 in the Big Ten.
Indiana was led by the 15 kills of junior outside hitter Ryann Connors. The Hoosiers hit only .058 for the match, including a -.152 showing in the game two blowout. Senior outside hitter Jen Magelssen also added nine kills and nine digs.
Head Coach Katie Weismiller said of the match, "Wisconsin came out aggressive. We stopped the middle but not their outside hitters. We really struggled offensively."
The Hoosiers are back in action Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in University Gym against the Northwestern Wildcats
