HOOSIERS GET SWEPT BY BUCKEYES
Columbus, Ohio - Indiana's problems on the road continued as they were swept by the Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus. The Hoosiers' hopes of postseason play were damaged by the 15-8, 15-9, 15-10 loss.
In the first game, the Buckeyes jumped out to a 12-2 lead and it was too deep for Indiana to come back. Game two saw the Hoosiers jump out 4-0, but Ohio State scored eight straight points to take an 8-4 lead. Indiana then came back to make it 10-9, but Ohio State ran off five points to win the game. Once again in game three, the Hoosiers found themselves down 12-2 and weren't able to make up the difference.
Melissa Rooney was the only Indiana player in double-figures with 13 kills. Ryan Connors, Indiana's leading hitter, was held to a season-low six kills and -.088 attack percentage.
Head coach Kate Weismiller was not pleased with her team's performance, "We were out played offensively tonight. Our passing was off and that prevented us from running our offense. Basically, they beat us in three key areas - kills, blocks, and digs."
Indiana wraps up the regular season tomorrow night at Penn State. Match time is set for 7:30 p.m.
