HOOSIERS BEAT AIA IN OVERTIME 97-95
Bloomington, Ind. Former Hoosier Robbie Eggers made his return
to Assembly Hall to come up short as Indiana won in overtime, 97-95.
Eggers and former Boilermaker Steve Scheffler tossed in 20 points apiece
to lead Athletes in Action's bid for a second straight win in Bloomington.
With :40 left in regulation, freshman Dane Fife scored a layup off of Luke Recker's steal to put Indiana up two. Athlete's in Action guard Landon Hackim was fouled with :27 seconds left and sank both free throws. Recker missed a baseline jumper at the buzzer and the game went into overtime at 78-78.
In the extra period, the two teams traded three-point baskets until Fife found junior college transfer Lynn Washington for a three-point play under the basket. A.J. Guyton sealed the game with a pair of free throws with :08 left.
