INDIANA HANDLES IU ALUMNI
Bloomington, Ind.--The No. 3 ranked Indiana Hoosiers defeated the IUAlumni 3-0 tonight at Bill Armstrong Stadium. This year's annual Alumni Game featured many players from the 1988 National Championship game.
In the first half, Gino DiGuardi got the offense started. He scored the first and game-winning goal at the 4:20 mark. Former Hoosier John Stollmeyer had the only two shots for the Alumni. Heading into the lockeroom, IU led the Alumni in every offensive catagory.
In the second half, Dema Kovalenko and Tyler Hawley put the exclamation point on tonight's match. Kovalenko scored at 62:05 from Hawley and Matt Fundenberger. With nine minutes to go, Hawley scored a goal of his own off Austin Ripmaster's pass to make the final 3-0.
IU begins the Big Ten Tournament this weekend in Evanston, Ill. The Hoosiers play the winner of the Michigan State/ Wisconsin match on Saturday, Nov. 14.
