RYANN CONNORS NAMED ALL-BIG TEN
Junior outside hitter Ryann Connors was named All-Big Ten by the League coaches. The Oak Lawn, Ill. native leads the Hoosiers in kills with 4.54 per game. She is the first Hoosier since Julie Flatley in 1995 to receive conference honors.
Earlier this season Connors was named AVCA National and Big Ten Player of the Week Nov. 9 for her performance against Illinois and Purdue. In those two matches, she tallied 62 kills and 30 digs to lead Indiana to an upset win over Illinois and a five-game victory over Purdue. Connors had led Indiana in kills in 18 of the 29 matches this season.
Connors and the Hoosiers begin NCAA first round play in Fayetteville, Ark. Thursday night. Indiana will play Northern Iowa at 6 p.m. EST and are followed by Arkansas and New Hampshire. The two winners will play at 8 p.m. EST Friday for a shot at the Sweet Sixteen.
