INDIANA DEFEATS INDIANA STATE 73-63 IN BIG FOUR CLASSIC
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Indiana's women's basketball team held off a fiesty Indiana State squad to defeat the Sycamores 73-63 in the seventh annual Big Four Classic held in front of 3,239 fans at the Hulman Center. Purdue defeated Ball State in the first game of the Classic 103-58.
The Hoosiers (6-3) were led by Cindy Kerns who for the second-straight game led IU in scoring. The senior netted 21 points on 9-12 shooting from the field. Guards Kristi Green and Kay Morgan also scored in double-figures with 13 and 12 points apiece, respectively.
As a team, IU shot 59 percent from the field compared to ISU's 31 percent field goal shooting. For Indiana State (4-1), it was there first loss of the season.
