A PAIR OF DEUCES FOR WOMEN'S GOLF
Carney and the Hoosiers Both Grab the Second Spot
WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Indiana women's golf team closed out the final round of the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational today with a second place finish, the fifth top five performance in six tries for the squad this season. The Hoosiers posted a team round of 310, not nearly enough to pass Campbell's 298, the only sub-300 round of the tournament.
Paving the way for the Hoosiers was senior Erin Carney whose 75 today was good enough for second. She finished just one shot off Florida Southern's Shanna Nagy, whose 72 today was the low round of the tournament. Three other Hoosiers, Jennifer Seger (T19), Michelle Hatfield (T22), and Jenny Gray (T22) finished in the top 25.
Sami Montgomery struggled today, carding an 88, her highest round of the season. She finished in a tie for 48th with teammate Theresa McDermott who was playing as an independent.
The Hoosiers will spend the week of March 15-22 practicing in Orlando, Florida, before traveling to Parrish, Florida, for the River Wilderness Invitational March 23-24.
