LUKE JIMENEZ UNDERGOES KNEE SURGERY
Bloomington, Ind. -- Indiana sophomore guard Luke Jimenez underwent successful knee surgery yesterday at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital.
Team physician Dr. Steve Ahlfeld repaired damaged cartilage in his right knee. The injury occurred in practice in February however Jimenez was able to play the remainder of the season. He played in 30 games in 1998 and averaged 3.0 points and 1.0 rebounds per game. He scored 7 points in Indiana's NCAA victory over Oklahoma and started IU's second round game vs. Connecticut.
He should return to full activities in three weeks.
