HOOSIERS FALL PREY TO WOLVERINES 4-3
Ann Arbor, Mich.- The Indiana women's tennis team dropped a close one 4-3 at the hands of the Michigan Wolverines. With this win, Michigan improved to 6-6 on the season while the Hoosiers move to 7-6.
"It was a very disppointing loss for us," stated IU head coach Lin Loring. "We played extremely well in doubles to win the point and played close in singles. A couple of close matches just went the other way." Leading the Hoosiers were sophomores Zahra Ahamed and Jessica Anderson with wins in their singles matches in addition to a sweep by the doubles' teams of freshman Kelly Blanch and senior Correne Stout, Ahamed and senior Megan McCarney, and junior Kelly Fitzgerald and sophomore Rebecca Wallihan.
The Hoosiers next match is Sunday, March 29th, as they travel to East Lansing to take on the the Michigan State Spartans. Action is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
