HOOSIERS LOSE AT PURDUE

West Lafayette, Ind. -- The IU softball team dropped a doubleheader at Purdue losing 5-0 and 5-3.

Indiana managed only two hits in the first game off of PU starter Sheryl Scheve. Scheve struckout nine batters in 5 2/3 innings. Trina Valencia and Jen Pullon each went 1-3 for IU.

Pullon led the Hoosiers in the second game with two hits and one RBI. Khara Good, Valencia and Monica Zahasky each added a hit as well but it was not enough as the Hoosiers lost 5-3. Jennifer Smith was the losing pitcher and is now 0-2.
