INDIANA LEADS HAWKEYE INVITATIONAL
Four Hoosiers Gun for Individual Title
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - In what has become commonplace at tournaments this season, the Indiana women's golf team is once again perched atop the leader board. With consecutive rounds of 299 to open the Hawkeye Invitational, the Hoosiers have posted a total of 598, nine strokes ahead of its nearest competition, Wisconsin.
In the race for individual medalist honors, four IU golfers are currently within legitimate striking distance. Michelle Hatfield, who won her first tournament title at the River Wilderness, is tied for first after a two-round 148. Following the three-way logjam at the top in fourth, fifth, and six places, respectively, are Jenny Gray, Jennifer Seger, and Erin Carney.
The Hawkeye Invitational is the final tune-up for the Hoosiers before heading to Penn State for the Big Ten Championships, May 1-3. The final round of the Hawkeye will be played tomorrow with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
