HOOSIERS SECOND AT REDSKIN INVITE
Oxford, Ohio- The 16th ranked Indiana women's water polo team
closed out the Redskin Invite in second place after defeating Michigan State
9-2 and falling to the University of Michigan 6-2 in the championship game.
The Hoosiers current record stands at 16-4-1.
The Hoosiers continued to showcase their offensive attack as they defeated Michigan State 9-2 to kick off Sunday's competition. Sophomores Deb Simone and Kara Fellerhoff, freshman Meredith Cravens, and graduate student Amy Pankoke each scored two goals a piece. In addition to her two goals, Fellerhoff added six steals. Senior goalie Kate Toole had eight saves.
In the championship game, the Hoosiers squared off against Big Ten rival Michigan. Indiana fell 6-2 at the hands of the Wolverines. Sophomore Megan Morgan scored both of the Hoosiers goals in the losing effort. Toole added another 15 saves.
The Hoosiers will next travel to Northwestern for the Big Ten Championship. Action is set to begin on Friday, April 10th, concluding on Sunday April 12th.
