Former Hoosier Butch Carter Named Head Coach of the NBA's Toronto Raptors
Toronto, Ont. -- Former Indiana player Butch Carter, who served as the
interim coach of the Toronto Raptors the final two months of the season,
has been named the permanent head coach of the team.
Carter joined the Raptors at the beginning of the 1997-98 season as an assistant
coach. Prior to that, he was an assistant with Milwaukee from 1991 to 1996
and a scout for the team in 1997.
The Raptors do have an Indiana flavor as former Hoosiers Glen Grunwald is the teams vice president and general manager and Jim Thomas is an assistant coach
