HOOSIERS OUTPLAY SAINT LOUIS BUT LOSE EXHIBITION OPENER 1-0
Saint Louis, Mo. -- After just three days of practice, the second
ranked Indiana Hoosiers outplayed third-ranked Saint Louis but lost 1-0
in the first of two exhibition games this preseason.
The Billikens scored in the 55th minute on a header by Dominic DaPra with
an assist to Paul Nagy. Nagy is SLU's goalkeeper and his play came from
a goal kick.
Indiana outshot the Billikens 17-2 and had 12 corner kicks to SLU's 1. Aleksey
Korol led the team with five shots while Lazo Alavanja had four. Indiana
goalkepper T.J. Hannig only had to make one save the entire game.
The Hoosiers finish the preseason with the annual Golden Boot exhibition
game next Saturday (Aug. 29) against Louisville. This year's game will be
played at the IUPUI Stadium.
