WOMEN'S GOLF THIRD AFTER FIRST ROUND

Lafayette, Ind., The Indiana University women's golf team is third after the first round of the Lady Northern Golf Tournament in Lafayette, Indiana. The Hoosiers carded a team score of 318 placing them seven strokes behind the leader Northwestern (311).
Leading the Hoosiers were Erin Carney and Sami Montgomery. Each fired a round of 77, five over par, to put them in a tie for seventh place. The individual leader is Christine Hermes of Northwestern. Hermes turned in a 73.
Freshman Tiffany Fisher is tied for 14th place after shooting 80 in her first collegiate round of golf. Fisher shot 39 on the front nine and 41 on the back nine.
