WOMEN FINISH THIRD AT SAM BELL INVITATIONAL
Bloomington, Ind. -- The Indiana Invitational was renamed the Sam Bell Invitational today in honor of the retired legend. Bell spent 29 years at the head of Indiana cc and track and field.
Indiana senior Traci Knudsen led the Indiana women's cc team to a third place finish at the newly named Sam Bell Invitational.
Ohio ran away with the women's 5k as four runners placed in the top seven.
"We weren't full strength," said IU women's coach Judy Bogenschutz. "Our top seven runners were not great, but we had some others come through.
(on Knudsen) "Traci is really putting her races together. She is focusing on running with consistency."
Next meet: The Hoosiers will run at the NCAA Pre-district meet in Terre Haute October 10th.
