WOMEN'S GOLF DROPS TO SIXTH AFTER SECOND ROUND

Lafayette, Ind., After the second round of play at the Lady Northern Golf Tournament in Lafayette, Indiana, the Indiana University women's golf team is in sixth place. Starting the day in third place, the Hoosiers drop three spots after turning in a round of 325. The Hoosiers 643 (318-325) are only seven strokes behind the tournament leader Ohio State 636 (315-321).
Leading the way for the Hoosiers is Erin Carney. Carney 155 (77-78) is in a tie for fourth place, three strokes back of leader Christie Hermes 152 (73-79). Freshman Tiffany Fisher continues to impress. Fisher 160 (80-80) is tied for ninth place with teammate Sami Montgomery 160 (77-83) and three others.
IU will look to wrap up their first tournament of the year tomorrow over the final 18 holes. The Hoosiers will be trying to continue their winning ways from last year, when they claimed victory seven times, including the Big Ten Championship.
