Hoosiers Defeat Illinois

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana (Ticker) -Luke Recker scored 23 points and hit three three-pointers in a 92-second span midway through the second half as 10th-ranked Indiana turned back Illinois,62-53, in a Big Ten Conference game.
A.J. Guyton added 14 points for the Hoosiers (14-3, 1-1 Big Ten), who bounced back from a 67-52 setback at Iowa on New Year's Eve. Recker and Guyton combined for just 13 points in the loss to the Hawkeyes but righted themselves to snap a three-game losing streak to Illinois.
Cory Bradford scored 14 points and Fess Hawkins added 10 for the Fighting Illini (8-5, 0-1), who have lost three of their last four games, with one remaining in a brutal five-game stretch. Illinois lost to Kansas and Missouri three days apart before recovering to defeat Clemson on Tuesday.
