HOOSIERS FACE PENN STATE AND CINCINNATI
This Week: The Indiana swimming and diving team will open the second half of the season with a pair of dual meets at the Counsilman/Billingsley Aquatic Center this weekend. On Friday, the Hoosiers host the Penn State Nittany Lions at 4 p.m. On Saturday, Indiana entertains the Cincinnati Bearcats in a coed dual meet. Saturday's action is scheduled to begin at 12 noon.
After the 1998 portion of the schedule, Indiana's dual meet record stands at 5-2. The Hoosiers have recorded wins over Kentucky, Southern Illinois, Iowa, and Cincinnati. The also finished fifth at the Indiana Invitational in November. South Carolina won the invite with 760 points. Indiana tallied 580.5.

Last Week: The diving team hosted the first annual Indiana Winter Invitational last weekend. Senior Mike Collier was the top diver as he swept all events in the three-day meet.
Big Ten Championships: For the third year in a row, the Counsilman and Billingsley Aquatic Center will be the site of a Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championship. The men's Big Ten Championships will be Feb. 25-27 in Bloomington. In 1997 the men's Big Ten Championships were at Counsilman/Billingsley and last year the women's Big Ten Championships were in Bloomington.
NCAA Diving Zone Meet: Indiana will also be the site of the NCAA Regional Diving Zone Meet. It will be held Mar. 12-13 and the top qualifiers will move on to the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis, Mar. 25-27.
