HOOSIERS FINISH FALL IN A TIE FOR 9TH AT XAVIER
Cincinnati, Ohio - The IU men's golf team concluded their fall schedule on Tuesday with a tie for ninth place at the Xavier Invitational. The Hoosiers shot a three round total of 889 (296-294-299). Michigan claimed the victory, leading the field of nineteen with a score of 865 (292-281-292).
Junior Steve Wheatcroft led the Hoosiers for the tournament, firing a season best 214 (70-70-74). Although Wheatcroft slipped from his fourth place position on Monday, he was able to capture a top-10 finish with a tie for seventh. Senior Corey Sullivan was able to hold onto his second top-25 finish of the season on Tuesday. Sullivan carded a 220 (72-72-76) for a share of 23rd.
Indiana will next travel to Hawaii, November 22-26, to compete in the Stan Sheriff Invitational and the Mauna Kea Resort Invitational. The two events make up the team's winter schedule.
