INDIANA WILL HOST LOUISVILLE IN DOUBLE-HEADER
GAME DATA - The Indiana Softball team will host the Louisville Cardinals in a double-header this Saturday, October 16 at the IU Softball Field. They will begin play at noon and will start the second game at 2 p.m. This will be the final tournament for the Hoosiers as they wrap up their fall schedule.
THE COACHES: Diane Stephenson begins her 13th season as the Indiana head coach, with winning records in seven of her 12 seasons. Stephenson has accumulated a 358-303-3 career record, including a 150-149 (.502) record in Big Ten play. Her team made the NCAA Mideast Regional in 1994 and finished with a record of 49-16. Stephenson is assisted by Donna Bonebrake and Jen McIntyre. Coach Bonebrake begins her fifth season with the Hoosiers and Coach McIntyre is in her first season.
FALL SEASON: The Hoosiers have competed in two of their three tournaments this fall. They began this fall with the NIC Tournament in Moline, Ill. where they went 2-2 on the weekend after defeating Drake and Western Illinois. Teresa Martinez and Lisa Mattke were named to the all-tournament team for their efforts.
The next weekend, Indiana traveled to Indianapolis to play five games in the Jaguars Invitational hosted by IUPUI. The Hoosiers finished the weekend 4-1 to put them at 6-3 for the fall season.
TICKET INFORMATION: There will be no charge for the games this
weekend at the IU Softball Field.
