HOOSIERS WIN DOUBLES FLIGHT AT HOOSIER CLASSIC
Bloomington, IN - Jessica Anderson and Kelly Blanch defeated Monica Rincon and Claudia Castro of Ohio State 8-2 to win the doubles draw on the last day of the Hoosier Classic Invitational.
Anderson and Blanch got to the finals with a win over Ohio State's Laura Maloney and Sadhaf Pervez 8-4.
Amanda Field and Jessica Levin lost their opening match to Rincon and Castro 8-5, before bouncing back to take 3rd-place over Maloney and Pervez 8-6.
Zahra Ahamed and Karie Schlukebir were victorious in both of their matches today. They opened with a win over Bowling Green's Abby Bratton and Erika Wasilewski 8-3 and then defeated Kathy Chuda and Eva Novotna 8-5 to finish in 5th-place.
Jennifer Hsia and Ann Poosuthasee were not as successful as they dropped both of their matches. They lost to Chuda and Wasilewski 8-6 and then fell to Bratton and Wasilewski 9-8 to finish in 8th-place
Head Coach Lin Loring said, "I was very pleased with our four new doubles teams. Overall it was a good performance for us in singles and doubles this weekend."
The Hoosier will continue action this weekendas they travel to Georgia for the Georgia Tech Invitational. Play will begin on Friday and conclude on Sunday. Go back to the Top
