INDIANA DEFEATS MICHIGAN
ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Indiana's volleyball team defeated Michigan 10-15, 15-7, 15-10, 15-10 Saturday evening at Cliff Keen Arena.
With the victory, the Hoosiers improve to 17-10 overall, 8-10 in Big Ten play while the Wolverines fall to 13-14 overall and 5-13 in the league.
Leading the way for the Hoosiers was senior Ryann Connors who collected 19 kills. She was followed by Amanda Welter with 17, Jill Mudge with 14 and Hillary Toivonen with 13. Senior middle blocker Cydryce Carter also came up big for the Hoosiers with 20 digs, seven kills and five block assists.
As a team, the Hoosiers registered a .241 attack percentage to Michigan's .171 with 83 kills to UM's 71. IU also tallied 10 blocks to the Wolverines 7.5.
"I felt a little nervous coming into tonight after Friday's tough four-game loss to Michigan State," said Weismiller. "But, we played aggressively the entire evening and that was the difference in the match. I also think that the seniors stepped it up a notch and that really helped."
The Hoosiers complete regular season competition next week, hosting Iowa
and Minnesota, Nov. 26-27, respectively.
