INDIANA SWEEPS OHIO STATE
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana's volleyball team soundly defeated Ohio State 15-5, 15-10, 15-10 Saturday evening at University Gym.
With the victory the Hoosiers improve to 15-8 overall, 6-8 in Big Ten play while the Buckeyes fall to 12-9 overall, 6-8 in the league.
Strong serving dictated the match for the Hoosiers as Indiana tallied 11 team aces, including five from senior Erin Heimann.
IU took control from the beginning, only trailing OSU 0-1 to start both games one and two.
Outside hitters Ryann Connors and Amanda Welter guided IU's offense with 11 and 10 kills apiece, respectively. Both hitters posted impressive attack percentages with Connors posting a .474 and Welter a .412 hitting efficiency.
As a team, IU recorded 45 kills for a .294 attack percentage.
"We came out aggressive tonight," said Katie Weismiller. "I think the senior class set some goals and one of those was to take care of business. They really stepped up their play tonight."
The Hoosiers will be back in action Wednesday, Nov. 10, hosting Illinois
at 7 p.m., in University Gym.
