HOOSIERS FINISH 12TH IN SAN DIEGO
Hoosiers drop fifth straight
San Diego, Calif.--The Indiana Women's Water Polo team lost 8-4 to 15th ranked Long Beach State during the final day of the UC San Diego Arena Invitational. Indiana (0-5) finishes 12th for the tournament while Long Beach State (4-2) takes home ninth place.
Once again, the Hoosiers had to play from behind as the 49ers raced out to a 4-1 halftime lead. Sophomore Kelly McKay scored twice for Indiana but the Hoosiers were unable to come back and get their first win of the season. Elizabeth Garcia and Stacy Black each scored twice for the 49ers.
The 11th ranked Hoosiers return home for the Indiana Invitational this weekend at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center. Indiana posted a 10-0-1 record at home last season.
