HOOSIERS TORPEDOED AT UCSD INVITATIONAL
Women's Water Polo drops two more
San Diego, Calif.--The 11th ranked Indiana Women's Water Polo team fell to 0-4 on the season after dropping two matches Saturday at the UC-San Diego Arena Invitational. The Hoosiers lost 5-3 to 12th ranked UC San Diego (1-5) and dropped a 9-1 decision to sixth ranked UC Santa Barbara (1-3).
After being outscored 31-3 in their first two matches, the Hoosiers battled UC San Diego to a 3-3 half time tie. The host Tritons then scored two second half goals to notch their first win of the year. Dara Burch and Courtney Kemmerly each scored twice for the Tritons and Indiana's Deb Simone scored her second goal of the year.
The Hoosiers then turned in another slow start against UC Santa Barbara, trailing 5-0 at the half. Sophomore Kelly McKay scored the Hoosiers lone goal while Katie Robinson pumped in four to lead the Gauchos.
Indiana finishes tournament play this afternoon against 15th ranked Long Beach State (3-2) at 3:50 p.m. EST.
