HOOSIERS SET FOR HOME OPENER
Bloomington, Indiana -- The Indiana Softball team (8-12) hosts Indiana State (3-11) in its home opener at the IU Softball Field Tuesday. The doubleheader begins at 2 p.m.
IU freshman Brooke Monroe leads the offense with a .339 batting average. Monroe also leads in hits (21), doubles (4), home runs (3), RBI (14), total bases (36), and slugging percentage (.581).
Seniors Khara Good and Jaime Thedford are the other Hoosiers hitting over .300 this season at .323 and .310, respectively. Good also does the job once she is on base stealing four bases in five attempts.
Junior Teresa Martinez is the Hoosiers top pitcher with a 5-3 record
and a 1.71 ERA. Martinez has started seven games, going the distance in
six and recording three shutouts.
