HOOSIERS SWEEP BUTLER

Indianapolis, Indiana-- The Indiana Softball team swept its second doubleheader of the season with a pair of 7-2 victories at Butler's Varsity Field Wednesday.

The Hoosiers (11-13) jumped on the Bulldogs early in the first game. Junior Sheri Savko hit a solo homer and junior Staci Meek hit a three-run double as IU scored six runs in the second inning. Junior Teresa Martinez improved to 6-4 and gave up just two hits as she threw her eighth complete game in nine starts.

In game two, IU jumped up early again with two runs in the first. Freshman Brooke Monroe had a huge game, going 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, a home run and four RBI. Savko also went 3-for-4, scoring once and driving in one run. Freshman Alison Cooke improves to 5-4 as she gave up just three hits in her seventh complete game of the season.
