First Spring Practice to be Held on Saturday

Bloomington, Ind. -- The Indiana University football program will begin spring practice on Saturday, March 27, at 9:30 a.m. The practice will be held on the grass practice fields adjacent to the Mellencamp Pavilion.
"We're all enthusiastic about the direction that this program is heading," said head coach Cam Cameron. "We're aware that there were some disappointments in the close losses to some very good football teams last year but we're excited about the team that we have returning. We have some good young talent and a very solid senior class that should give us an interesting mix."
Indiana returns 19 starters this spring, including All-America candidate Adewale Ogunleye, IU's career sack leader, and 1998 Big Ten Freshman-of-the-Year Antwaan Randle El. Randle El was recently named as one of CNN/Sports Illustrated's 11 frontrunners for the 1999 Heisman Trophy.
On Sunday, the Hoosiers will practice at 2:00 p.m. Practice sessions are open to the public. Cameron will be available to the media following Saturday and Sunday's practice. Please contact Todd Starowitz for further details.
