HOOSIERS TAKE TWO OF THREE AT MICHIGAN

Simone leads the way for Indiana
Ann Arbor, Mich--The Indiana Women's Water Polo team won two of three matches this weekend at the Michigan Invitational in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The 20th ranked Hoosiers (10-12) fell to arch-rival Michigan, 4-3 while defeating Michigan State, 3-1 and Illinois, 10-3.
Sophomore driver Deb Simone led Indiana with six goals and 18 steals for the weekend. The sophomore from River Forest, Illinois scored twice against Michigan, three times against Michigan State and added one more against Illinois. Simone now has 30 goals for the season and 80 for her two-year Indiana career.
In the Illinois win, sophomores Kristin Carpenter and Molly Fonner each scored three goals a piece and Kelly McKay scored twice. Carpenter has scored 18 goals in her last 11 matches, giving her 28 for the season.
The Hoosiers are back in action this weekend at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center for the Hoosier Invitational. Joining the Hoosiers will be Michigan, Michigan State and Wisconsin.
