HOOSIERS HANDLE HARVARDSimone's three goals lead Hoosiers to victory
Bloomington, Ind.--The Indiana Women's Water Polo team defeated the Harvard Crimson tonight, 7-3 at the Billingsley/Counsilman Aquatic Center. The # 15 Hoosiers improved to 3-6, while the #20 Crimson dropped to 0-1 for the season.
IU took full advantage of three goals from sophomore Deb Simone. The Hoosiers jumped out to an early 2-1 lead after the first period, with Simone scoring both goals. Simone wrapped up her hat trick in the fourth period, scoring her second goal from a four-meter penalty shot.
Sophomore Sheri Fagley chipped in with two goals of her own. Fagley closed out the scoring with the last goal of the evening, scoring with 3:05 left in the fourth period.
Also contributing to tonight's win were sophomore's Kara Fellerhoff and Kristin Carpenter, who each scored one goal.
The Hoosiers and Crimson square off tomorrow, Sunday, March 7, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. to close out the Hoosier Classic.
