INDIANA FINISHES SECOND AT PEGGY KIRK BELL
WINTER SPRINGS, FLA. - The Indiana University women's golf team finished the Top Flite/ Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational in second place with a score of 638 (327-311), eight strokes behind the winner Campbell University, 630 (312-318). The Hoosiers second round of 311 was the best of the day on the par 72 course.
Freshman Tiffany Fisher was the team leader for IU. Fisher fired a second round of three-over-par 75 to finish tied for eighth place and give her a tournament total of 158 (83-75).
Campbell University's Patricia Monchietti was the winner of the tournament. Monchietti fired a tournament best 156 (78-78) and won in a playoff, beating Kylie Pratt (79-77) of Campbell, Karen Calvesbert (77-79) of Rollins College, and Laura Torrisi (75-81) of Campbell.
The Hoosiers are off for spring break and will be back in action April 2-4, 1999 at the Liz Murphy Invitational in Athens, Georgia.
