HOOSIERS DROP TWO AT IOWA
IOWA CITY, Iowa - Indiana University's softball team dropped two games to No. 24 Iowa Saturday afternoon 2-1 and 7-2.
With the loss, the Hoosiers dropped to 17-26 overall, 3-7 in the Big Ten, while the Hawkeyes improved to 29-16-1 overall, 4-4 Big Ten.
In game one, the Hoosiers fought a hard battle, losing 2-1 in the eighth inning as the Hawkeyes' Brooke Cross' single to center field sent teammate Katy Jendrzejewski across homeplate for the win.
In game two, the Hoosiers went up 1-0 in the first inning as Khara Good opened with a double to center field and then eventually scored on a Brooke Monroe single to right field. But seven Iowa runs scored in the top of the third was more than Indiana could overcome, going down in defeat 7-2.
The Hoosiers complete the three-game series with the Hawkeyes, playing a single game at 1 p.m., Sunday, April 18.
